iPhone 11: Everything We Know So Far

Exciting news for Apple fans: recently, the tech giant announced the highly anticipated iPhone 11. The impressive announcement led many individuals scrambling to make their pre-orders to grab this device as soon as it’s officially released. But with new iPhones announced so frequently, it pays to ask what’s new, what’s improved, and if this new iPhone is actually a good deal.

Let’s break it down.

New colors!

Unlike those featured in the iPhone 9, XR, or XS, the iPhone 11 comes in four color options. The most talked-about addition is midnight green, making the device’s colors distinctly different from past generations.

Overall Dimensions and Screen Size

The new iPhone 11 models sport screens that run pretty much the full size of the phones themselves. And, without that back bar around the screen, you get to see much more than you could in previous models. The actual dimensions and screen sizes are:

  • 11: 5.94″ x 2.98″ x 0.33″ overall, screen is 6.1″ LCD.
  • 11 Pro: 5.67″ x 2.81″ x 0.32″ overall, screen is 5.8″ OLED. This size makes the Pro just a touch smaller than the XR.
  • 11 Pro Max: 6.22″ x 3.06″ x 0.32″ overall, screen is 6.5″ OLED.

Unlike the XR, these new iPhones can handle being in water for up to 30 minutes in up to 2 meters of water (IP68). This should save you when your phone is accidentally dropped; after all, accidents happen!

Camera Upgrade

On of the most talked-about features of the brand-new iPhones are their cameras. Now, there are three cameras included on the back of the phone, making it perhaps the best iPhone camera ever.

All models come with 12MP wide and ultra-wide cameras, and the Pro and Pro Max come with the third telephoto camera, making them perfect for releasing the photographer in all of us. With high-quality portrait modes, you’ll feel like the artist you’ve always wanted to be. Another big feature is the 4K video recording available in all models, perfect for home video clips. The cameras also have a better stabilization rate to provide even greater clarity. Get ready to capture life’s priceless moments like never before.

Battery

Right now, the exact batteries themselves have not been disclosed. However, Apple has said that the 11 should last up to an hour longer than the XR. The 11 Pro should be able to last up to 4 hours longer than the XS. It has 18 hours of playback on video and up to 65 hours of audio playback. Apple claims the 11 Pro Max should last up to 5 hours longer than the XS Max, making it the longest-lasting battery of this line-up. Video playback is up to 20 hours and the audio playback is up to 80 hours.

As was the case with prior models, the iPhone 11 models are compatible with wireless Bluetooth earpods and will not have a port to plug headphones into.

Pricing

Without trade-ins, 64GB options for these phones roughly start at:

  • iPhone 11: $699.
  • iPhone 11 Pro: $999.
  • iPhone 11 Pro Max: $1,099.

Final Thoughts

With the iPhone 11, it’s time to enjoy a long-lasting battery and a beautiful camera set-up. If you’re ready to pre-order the new iPhone, make sure to do it fast—before they are back-ordered.
